LIFEgroups

April Semester (5 months duration)

lifegroups-logoLIFEgroups are the primary means that enable our growing church to stay genuinely personal. In LIFEgroups, people study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also where we pray, love and accept one another, care for one another, and enjoy heartfelt fellowship. Joining a LIFEgroup is a great way to meet people, experience encouraging friendships, and discover the deeper, life-transforming purpose God has for each of our lives.

Signing-up is easy. To get started, browse the available LIFEgroups options till you find one that seems like a good fit. Then fill out the simple registration form at the bottom of this page, indicating your 1st and 2nd choices. We trust your life will be enriched and blessed by joining us in these next five months.

General LIFEgroups

Sharing is CaringSharing is Caring
Mother Teresa once said, “Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.” As Christians, we have a calling, a heavy burden, to help the poor – both those who are in socioeconomic poverty, and those who find themselves mired in the spiritual poverty of being unwanted. This group seeks to spend time with people in nursing homes. Besides befriending and visiting seniors every other week, we’ll spend the off-week praying, worshiping, studying the Word of God, and talking about such influential people as Mother Teresa and Francis of Assisi.

Meets every Monday at 7:30pm, Leader: Stephanie Ma (ma_stephanie26@hotmail.com)

The Search for Significance The Search for Significance
You may be able to identify with some of the following statements:

•I must meet certain standards to feel good about myself.
•I need the approval of certain people to feel good.
•When I fail, I feel I am unworthy of love and deserve to be punished.
•I am what I am. I cannot change. I feel hopeless.

If you do, you are not alone. Come journey with us as we learn together about building our self-worth on God’s truth.

Meets every Monday at 7:30pm, Leaders: Aaron Mok (mokinator@gmail.com), Caleb Lau (always4God@hotmail.com)

Uprising - A Revolution of the Soul

Uprising – A Revolution of the Soul
In this LIFEgroup study, we will discover that only Christ can transform us from the inside. While it seems like many people you talk to these days desire change, what you’ve probably discovered is that you can change your appearance, your habits, your friends, your job… but you can’t change your character. At least, not on your own. How do we have the strength of character to rise above the challenges that we face? In a group environment of supportive friendships, food and fun, this LIFEgroup will help us to allow God to transform our character to be more like His.
Meets every Thursday at 7:15pm

Chasing Daylight

Chasing Daylight
Adventure awaits. Opportunity is all around us. In this LIFEgroup study, Chasing Daylight, we are called to a life of genuine purpose. The biblical character of Jonathan was a man on a mission. In faith and doubt, he stepped out to launch a daring attack that energized his people. Erwin McManus culls eight characteristics of an adventurer’s heart, what he calls “The Jonathan Factor.” Using powerful examples from his own life and ministry, along with fresh biblical teaching, McManus asserts that God crafts divine moments specific to each of us – priceless opportunities for us to actively engage in God’s plan. By developing these characteristics, Christians can move from mundane to miraculous living.

Men’s LIFEgroups

The Measure of a ManThe Measure of a Man
For our Men’s LIFEgroup, we will intently consider what it takes to be a man of God. Men will gain encouragement for what they can be in Christ
- as fathers, husbands, and mentors to other men. True masculinity is not measured by a man’s strength, but by these 20 biblical guidelines. With life applications and words of inspiration, here is Gene Getz’s greatest work
- fully rewritten and updated to reach the new generation of modern men.
Men of all ages and walks of life are encouraged to join us.

Meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm

Women’s LIFEgroups

When A Woman Meets JesusWhen A Woman Meets Jesus
In a world of high expectations, it’s easy for women to feel unworthy. But there is someone who loves women just as they are: Jesus. Through engaging storytelling, Dorothy Valcarcel reveals the lives of eighteen New Testament women who knew Jesus personally. They were broken, needy, lonely, flawed, or empty, but Jesus cared about them and took time to meet their needs. With a narrative that takes readers from biblical times to the modern day, Valcarcel defines the kind of everlasting and lifting love for which every woman longs.

Meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday at 7:30pm
Leaders: Sui Wong (suiwongrx@yahoo.com)
